Meanwhile, there may be many questions about what to expect, and you’re at the right place to find answers.  This page is where you will find up-to-date information about the rebrand.

Why are you changing your name?
Our current name has been identified as a limiting factor for those looking to join the credit union. Our new name is intended to be welcoming of our community and more inclusive of the geographic area we serve and will allow us to grow while still reflecting who we are and our commitment to serving the greater community. It also expresses the aspirations we have for our members’ financial well-being and reflects the level of service we offer to our members.
Is the name change a result of a merger or acquisition?
NO. The name change is not related to a merger, and we are not being acquired by another institution. It simply reflects who we are today and better positions us to be better able to serve our greater community.
When will the new name take effect?
Baltimore County Employees Federal Credit Union will become Peake Federal Credit Union on March 4, 2025.
What will change with the new name?

Your relationship with us and your day-to-day banking will not change. Beginning in March 2025, you will see changes to our website, building signage, branch design, stationery, brochures, etc.

Is BCEFCU maintaining its affiliation with Baltimore County Government?

YES! We are proud of our history of serving Baltimore County Government and we are steadfast in our commitment, relationship, and partnership with Baltimore County Government. We believe that by changing our name and rebranding the credit union, we will create a more welcoming identity for everyone in our community. It will also allow us to become a stronger financial institution to serve our members, and our community, better.

Will ownership of the credit union remain the same?

YES! You, our members, will continue to own the credit union.

Will the credit union’s services change?

No. Our core services will remain the same. You can continue to expect the same high-quality service, products, and support you’ve always received from us. Changing our name will allow us to better serve our community, and you can expect that we’ll add services that will make your experience even better.
