Financial Scams related to Stimulus Checks – April 16, 2020
Please be vigilant against scammers seizing upon fears about the Coronavirus pandemic. With the government stimulus checks being sent to help Americans, reports indicate that scammers are posing as government employees to gain access to your personal data. Fraudsters will say they need a few more pieces of information (social security numbers, PayPal account numbers, or even Credit Union account numbers) in order to process the stimulus payment. Don't fall for this scam. The processing of stimulus checks does not require a phone call or email to consumers for any additional information!
