ATTENTION INTERNATIONAL TRAVELERS
Due to ATM card compromises
in recent weeks, we are suspending ALL ATM access outside
the United States. When we originally considered this step,
we planned to notify members in a timely manner; however,
this had to be revised and the change is now effective immediately.
These losses are resulting
from members who are still responding to various phishing
emails from eBay, PayPal, etc. despite considerable warnings
from us, TV ads, radio and newspapers. Crooks are using the
information to manufacture counterfeit cards and use them
at ATM's in Eastern Europe and other places.
We regret having to take
this action which affects our service to the membership. May
we suggest the purchase of traveler's cheques when traveling
abroad or other steps to ensure you have adequate access to
funds such as using your VISA Credit Card for cash advances.
Note: POS (Point
of Sale) transactions are not affected by this change.
