This new service enhancement adds a valuable measure of protection to your SmartCash VISA Check Card. Simply put, the overdraft benefits you currently enjoy with your Credit Union Checking Account will soon be extended to your Smart Cash VISA Check Card purchases. We will need to hear back from you. With this enhanced level of service, we will first look to pay any overdrafts by automatic transfers from your eligible savings accounts, secondly from any established line of credit, and lastly utilizing the Courtesy Pay program.
With Courtesy Pay, we would honor the overdrawn amount of your Smart Cash VISA Check Card transaction up to a limit of $500. A $25.00 fee would be assessed for each transaction that draws your account negative. You would then have up to 30 days to bring your account current—either through a direct deposit, transfer of funds, or by making a deposit at one of our two offices.
Without this overdraft protection, ATM and everyday debit card transactions may be declined if you make a withdrawal without sufficient funds. Allowing us to enhance your Smart Cash Card will save you from possible embarrassment.
To enjoy this peace of mind, Federal regulations require you to authorize this Debit Card Overdraft Protection.
